Up and Running
Ladies and Gentleman, the computer system, developed by Alan McSeveney, that operates all the settings on Blenkinsopp’s amazing
analogue boxes is up and running. After much hard work and genuinely innovative mind crunching by Alan and Blenkinsopp
the system was put to test during this technical rehearsal.
The location is the new space where KiNo LiVe events will be held, on the 6th floor of that building in New York, produced and processed by the Sonic Wizard Jeff Blenkinsopp.
The system at the heart of KiNo LiVe is an all analogue sound processor tower (photographed below) that makes up the unearthly psychedelic sound. Meanwhile, there is no sound being generated by the computer. The computer routes the MIDI controller data from the filter pedals, control voltage pulse change messages, and envelope controllers. It is a revolution in not only in terms of sonics, but also in terms of re-defining what constitutes a “song” and what type of flexibility in live performance can best express the music of KiNo, Poet of Sound and Image, for a live audience.
